Impact & Approach
Change that's measurable, durable and locally owned.
Reduced solid waste improves sanitation, lowers disease outbreaks and strengthens public health in towns and villages.
Communities adopt afforestation, conservation and clean energy — buffering them against drought and degradation.
Better coordination between communities, CBOs and county government raises the quality of environmental management.
Women, youth and PWDs lead in peace, enterprise and community decision-making.
Rangeland recovery protects livestock — the lifeblood of pastoralist households.
Children stay in school, adults gain literacy, and youth move into work.
Our approach
We don't deliver to communities — we deliver with them.
STEP adopts a collaborative and inclusive partnership approach that brings together government institutions, development partners, civil society, the private sector and community structures.
Our programs are conflict-sensitive, climate-aware and grounded in indigenous knowledge. Every intervention is co-designed with local leaders so it survives long after the project cycle ends.
